What Happens When You Say Yes—Even If You’re Uncomfortable

Steve W. didn’t begin with a stage, a title, or a grand strategy. Coming out of COVID, he simply started Jesus Disciple to lean into the call of Jesus in his own life.

What began in private didn’t stay there.

Steve introduced Jesus Disciple to his church, and today they are actively walking through it together. Networks have launched. The people he once discipled are now leading groups of their own. He lights up when he talks about it—watching those he poured into step into leadership themselves. For Steve, this isn’t a program. It’s the Great Commission. A command. A calling for every believer to make disciples who make disciples.

What makes his story even more powerful is that he doesn’t do this alone. He does it with his family. Together, they pray for their neighborhood, preparing to launch Jesus Disciple right where they live. Recently, he was invited to speak at his daughter’s school to young students and used an exercise from JD to plant seeds of faith. From his home to his church to local schools, Steve is living the mission out loud.

He often says, “If I can do it, anyone can do it.” Two decades from now, he asks, what will matter more than answering the call of God? What started with uncertainty has become conviction. What began with discomfort has turned into multiplication. This is what happens when an ordinary person simply says yes.
